The PSCBC grieves the loss of a dedicated a committed stalwart, NATU President, Mr. Skhumbuzo Allen Thompson, He was elected to the NATU presidency on 5 September 2018 at the Union’s Centenary Celebration Conference. Mr Thompson passed away on the 4th of January 2021.

Mr Thompson will be remembered for being an outspoken with high moral and ethical values. He played a pivotal role in growing NATU’s membership and was always at the forefront fighting for better conditions of service for our teachers. Largely, due to all of his efforts, NATU is a well know educator union whose mission is to: Teach the children of the nation like never before and bring joy to the classroom.

We value the knowledge that Mr Thompson has brought to the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) and the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) as well as our Country at large.

On behalf of the Chairperson, General Secretary, Council and Secretariat we would like to place our record our sincere appreciation to this fallen Comrade who was dearly valued and respected. Mr Thompson will be remembered for his humility and impeccable mannerisms.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Thompson family during this difficult time, we pray that the Lord grants you courage and strength.
